![]() If levels, multiplayer, sharing your city, or being able to build the ones they give to you or use the other blocks matters to you (you have to buy the blocks with gems) ignore this. Here’s another tip: if you don’t want to spend money or wait hours to make huge structures, stay on level two. Maybe this doesn’t affect anyone else, but I hope this will be fixed in the future. Very (very very) rarely if you turn on music extremely quickly while the game is in the middle of loading it will work, but I have not yet found a way to consistently be able to listen to music and play the game on the same device with normal headphones. If you have headphones that turn on and off, if you move forward in the app and turn on your music while moving, it will play and you will function normally. This does have some interesting effects, for example you can use a sort of pseudo-sonar and see your city from the bottom if you’re in the map and turn on music, but you still can’t move around. If you enter the game while music is playing, your music stops, and if you start music while you’re in the game then the game freezes. Great game, I’ve spent a lot of time playing, and the only thing that bothers me is that you cannot play music while playing in the game. I just downloaded it and it's so fun and addictive I recommend this to people who like games on mobile devices. That's right one of the best games I have ever played so if you are looking for a good time by just sitting around this is the app for you! Whoever doesn't like this game has a problem. I have never played such an awesome game. Finish whatever you have to before even starting. Very good game, but completely addicting. Easy to play and an easy way to kill some time in between appointments. We are now making Wordcraft available to homeschoolers everywhere in an iPhone/iPad app. Students of all ages gained a much deeper and more flexible understanding of English. How Wordcraft was CreatedĪ year of testing in the New York City public school system demonstrated that Wordcraft provided students with an addicting game-like experience that massively improved their vocabulary. So, learning becomes more efficient, and since every word is a puzzle to be solved, much more fun. This is the power of Wordcraft: every root your child learns opens the door to dozens of words. So from just five roots (OMNI, SCI, HERB, CIDE and REG) your child is now in a position to decipher dozens of new words: omnipresent, homicide, interregnum, regent, regal, regimen, prescient, conscientious. But armed with this deeper understanding, they can decipher herbicide (HERB = plant, CIDE = kill).Īnd now a sophisticated word like regicide is easy to decode: REG = king & CIDE = kill, so regicide must be “ the assassination of a king”! Even a very advanced word becomes child’s play: interregnum means “ the period between (INTER) the reign of two kings.” That leads to carnivore and herbivore, words most kids know already. Add the root POT = able, and we can also solve the puzzle of the word omnipotent: “ able to do all things”.Īdd the root VOR = eat, and we’ve learned omnivore. OMNI = all and SCI = know, so omniscient = “ knowing all things”. Wordcraft trains the child to break it down into its parts and put it back together. But it’s much more effective to break it down into its roots and figure out the word as a puzzle. You could force your child to memorize omnsicient on a long list of vocabulary words. How it WorksĬonsider a word like omniscient. If you know this word already, great! But it’s pretty intimidating to a child who doesn’t. There are lots of books and workbooks on the subject, but now there is a fast-paced iPhone/iPad game called Wordcraft that teaches children thousands of words based on their Latin and Greek origins. Learning just a few of these roots can lead to hundreds of new words. The most engaging way to increase your child’s vocabulary is to tap into the tremendous power of Latin and Greek root words.
